The 2009 fishing season is upon us. If you've been waiting for the right fishing adventure, you don't have to wait any longer. Kvichak (kwee-jak) Lodge is located in the Lake Illiamna region of Alaska and should be your only consideration.

Our area consistently produces trophy fish throughout the season. The abundant fish in the Kvichak River makes each day a sensational activity to look forward to. The Kvichak River has some of the best trophy Rainbow Trout fishing in the world and the largest sockeye (red) salmon run. There are four species of Salmon each numbering in the millions. Resident classes of fish are Arctic Char, Dolly Varden, Northern Pike and Arctic Grayling.

The Height of the 2008 fishing season was my nephew, Greer McDowell, catching a 11-3/4 pound Rainbow on a fly rod. Greer is probably the only 11 year old to catch a Rainbow bigger then his age.





The Kvichak Lodge can accommodate up to 12 people in private and semi-private rooms. The lodge offers the same comforts as your own home and has an Alaskan atmosphere with lots of room for socializing. The living room, bar area and sunroom overlook the Kvichak River.
